Microfiltration (MF)

Overview

Microfiltration (MF) membranes have pore sizes in the range of 0.1 to 1.0 microns. These membranes can filter out large suspended solids such as particulates, colloids, fat and bacteria while, it allows relatively smaller particles like, proteins, polysaccharides to pass through it.

Operating at low pressures, Adimem’s FLUXA™ MF membranes are ideal for water purification, food & beverage processing, pharmaceuticals, and wastewater treatment—offering high flux, low energy consumption, and consistent removal of fine particulates.

FLUXA™ MF Series

Adimem’s FLUXA™ MF series offers high-performance PVDF & PES spiral wound microfiltration membranes. These come in sanitary or FRP outerwrap, in both 8” and 4” sizes, ideal for high-purity clarification and hygienic processes. We also offer UPVC and SS housings for these FLUXA™ MF elements.

AdiShell™- UPVC housings for FLUXA™ MF

For FLUXA™ MF, which is used predominantly for a low pressure application, we offer AdiShell™ UPVC housing. These are a cost effective alternative to traditional FRP or stainless steel housings that are predominantly used for high pressure RO/NF applications. AdiShell™ allows users to upgrade or change membrane elements without replacing the housing- reducing both CAPEx and downtime.

Key Benefits of FLUXA™ MF Membranes

  • Effective removal of suspended solids, bacteria, and fine particulates
  • Low-pressure operation with high permeability
  • Offered in both spiral wound and lab-grade flat sheet formats
  • Suitable for clarification, pretreatment, and process water polishing
  • Broad chemical compatibility and easy cleanability

FAQ's

What are the key applications of ultrafiltration membranes?

Ultrafiltration membranes are used across multiple industries, including water treatment, food & beverage, dairy processing, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. Common applications include RO pretreatment, wastewater recycling, protein concentration, enzyme recovery, juice clarification, oil-water separation, and chemical processing. UF is also widely used in STPs, ETPs, and membrane bioreactors (MBRs) for efficient removal of suspended solids and microorganisms.

Ultrafiltration membranes are available in different configurations to suit specific applications. Hollow fibre membranes (FYBRIN™ series) are ideal for large-scale water treatment and reuse due to their high surface area and compact design. Spiral wound membranes (FLUXA™ series) offer precise molecular weight cut-off (MWCO) control and are commonly used in food, dairy, and biotech industries. Tubular membranes (TUBIONIQ™ series) are best suited for high-solid and viscous fluids, such as industrial wastewater and oil-water separation, due to their robust design and easy cleaning

Choosing a trusted ultrafiltration membrane manufacturer or supplier in India ensures access to high-performance, durable, and application-specific filtration solutions. Reliable manufacturers provide multiple membrane formats (hollow fibre, spiral wound, tubular) along with customizable MWCO ranges, materials like PVDF and PES, and compatible housings. They also ensure strict quality control, technical support, and cost-effective bulk supply, making them ideal for industries such as water treatment, food processing, and pharmaceuticals. Partnering with an experienced supplier helps improve filtration efficiency, reduce downtime, and ensure long-term operational reliability.
